I'm to file share between my Mac (Pismo with 10.2.6) and a PC with Windows XP Pro over a university network. Opening connect to server, I don't see the PC. Lots of Macs are visible and some PC's (smb servers). If I type smb://the.PCs.IP.address, I actually get an authentication box and if I fill it out with my network ID and password, I see the shared folder on the PC as a volume in the finder - but I can't open it! If I try to "Get Info" on the folder, it disappears! If I then try to reconnect, I get a -5000 error.

Any thoughts as to what might be wrong?
