I just tried to open iMovie 08 for the first time since using Leopard, it opens but nothing happens. I get all the menu bar options but everything is greyed out. I did software update and updated to 7.1 but still does the same, any ideas? I can't even find the option to uninstall and reinstall it, even on the CD there's nothing.

you're use of 'uninstall' makes me think you recently switched from windows. To remove imovie, just go to the applications folder and drag it to the trash. pop in your cd and you should be able to install ilife again. the disk should install ilife on top of your current ilife while putting a new copy of imovie on. repairing permissions after the install won't hurt either.

No I did that, most hefty apps like iMovie etc come with an uninstaller tho to completely remove it from the system. I guess I'll try deleting all the iLife programs and reinstalling them to see if that helps. The one time I want to use the stupid thing and it doesn't work, as if I didn't feel like it was a waste of money already!
