OK. I have a five-week-old rev. b 12-inch PowerBook. I really like it, but had the g4 iBooks been out when I bought it I probably would have gotten one of them instead. Would I be crazy to sell the PB now and get a g4 iBook? Has anyone had experience with both who could give me some advice? My needs are word-processing, e-mail, web and occasional photo/video editing. I also value battery life and Airport range, and I know iBooks have a better reputation in this department -- do the g4 iBooks with Airport Extreme have as good Airport range as the g3 iBooks with Airport? One thing I love about my PB is its keyboard -- how does the g4 iBook's keyboard compare?

Thanks!

I love the keyboard on my iBook G4. But if I had had the money I would've gotten a Powerbook. Don't get rid of your Powerbook, in my opinion.
iBook G4: 800mhz, 640mb, 40gb ("Astrid")
iPod: 30gb Photo ("Gordon"), 1gb Shuffle ("Tinker Bell")
For the record: I am female

you would be many types of nuts.

although depending on the amount of photo/video editing you do and what file sizes you work with, the larger RAM capacity of the powerbook, as well as the screen spanning option may be worth keeping it.

OTOH if this kind of stuff is minimal and not for large format print work (exaggeration there) then the iBook G4 would probably suit you quite well, and you could buy an iPod or something with the change.
