I've been having several Type 41 and bus errors on my G3 firewire powerbook, 9.0.4. I recently got a "Time Synchronizer bus error" along with lockups and bus errors while trying to use QuickTime or any other video editing package, including Final Cut Pro 1.2.5

I rebooted with extentions off, and it stopped with Type 41 bus error again, and wouldn't go to desktop. Booted from CD, reinstalled 9.0. Tried running Adobe After Effects 3.1 and got the bus error.

Any suggestions. I have a 256mb RAM chip along with the factory 64mb chip.

Thanks,
Chris

Where did you buy your RAM from? If I were you I'd download a copy of GaugePro from Newer Technology and run the Memory Test to see if you have faulty memory. And make sure you have the memory modules seated correctly in there slots.

Type 41 errors are usually a sign that the finder preferences are corrupted.
When you get multiple errors at boot up or at other times the first thing you want to try is removing the Finder Prefs from the Preferences Folder and rebooting.
A fix for this seems to be giving the Finder more memory.
i personally use 'Reaper'
available at www.macdownload.com
Search for it by name.
There are several methods for achieving the same end.
