It just seems to be a small plug. There is a miniDVI to DVI adapter included as well as miniDVI to VGA adapter etc

Specs are on the apple page.

Not all of them... doesn't have a PC-Card/Cardbus slot!

Okay, okay, give 'em a break, it's a little case, there's no more room on the side.

Never been convinced by mini DV, we tried an ibook 900mhz with mini dv and a Ti 867 with full dvi last week (with requisite apple connectors) with a dvi projector, ti ran fine, ibook shifted the screen down by 50%

It may have been the leads but I doubt it

I'm pretty sure the iBook doesn't have DVI... It's a feature reserved for the "pro" laptops.

What you're taking about is the iBook's "mini VGA" port. Not DVI at all.

The DVI built-in to the 12" appears to be genuine DVI, just uses a smaller plug so that the rather large DVI port can fit on the small 12" case.

Check the specs if you like.

To me that says genuine DVI: the mini-DVI adapter turns the small PB's port into a large DVI socket that standard DVI cables can plug into.

It's genuine, Griggsy is confused. ("Mini-DV" is what a DV camcorder uses anyway. )

The iBook is limited to a resolution of 1024x768. "MiniDV" is a standard for video cameras and their tapes.
