I have gotten no where with Sony on this issue.

I love my ICD-R100 recorder but the conversion software is for PC only and the cable is a digital I/O with a PC serial. I am just analoging it now. Of course, the quality is hardly good enough to need digital but it would be quieter and nice to use the port. Does anyone know if I can just use a serial adaptor through USB. Also what is the Sony codec for this device and how to convert it?

thanks

I don't know if the ICD-R100PC is the same as what you have, but it is not a serial cable, but a parallel cable (plugs into parallel port on my IBM laptop). I know, I am talking PC's here, but I also use a Power Mac and other machines too. :-)
