I have used MS Word in the past to format a page of Avery address labels. Can I use Pages to do this, and to show label trim guide lines? I know NeoOffice has this but has Pages?

No idea, but you do you know you can print Avery labels right out of Address Book, right?

No I didn't. How do you do this? I have checked http://www.iworkcommunity.com/ but cannot find the label format I use. If anyone is interested it is Avery J8160 @ 21 per sheet. Also I neeed to print different addresses in all the labels - not the same address.

Just seen this re Address book/labels....
"..... pages isn't designed for doing labels. My guess (& it's only a guess), is that, since labels can be printed directly from Address Book, doing labels in Pages wasn't considered a priority. If you're planning to merge from Address Book, remember that Pages will only merge one name per page."
I guess that's pretty conclusive!

Just open Address Book, select the contacts you wish to print, and then choose Print. There you'll have options to pick labels, envelopes, lists, etc.

Also Avery has a free Mac Application for printing all of their labels. Go to http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Tem...ware/_/Ns=Rank
scroll down to Avery Design Pro for Mac. I've used it and think it's pretty easy to use and does an excellent job of printing labels for me.

You can also take a Word document that is formatted for the specific Avery labels you have and use it in Pages.

Tried DesignPro .... but I need an app that will print Avery J8160 63.5 x 38.1 mm @ 21 per sheet. DesignPro - as I see it, will only print 30 per sheet and cannot be changed. The labels I have are standard white addressing labels so I don't understand why they aren't catered for!

If you have a blank page of J8160 labels and a ruler you can make your own template with Pages using the Table feature. It's pretty easy to make templates and doesn't take that much time.
