Can SOMEONE please post the iPod 1.0.3 updater that got pulled on their homepage or server so those of us without the B&W problem can play with the new improvements to the decoding engine?

If you still need it, email me (since your address is hidden) and I'll email it to you.

I have it if you still need it, but IT SUCKS! I went back to 1.0.2 and got a huge relief. 1.0.3 is soo screwed up: sometimes the accelated scrolling is there, but slow, soemtimes it's not there. It also left my ipod's HD spinning for 27 secs into a song and a few other bugs. 1.0.2 fixs all that, so I recommend you wait for 1.0.4.

What does 1.0.3 improve? I only have 1.0.2.

I expect Apple hasn't bothered to release a fixed 1.0.3 update because Macworld SF 2002 is two days away! I'll bet they release iPod update 1.1, with a built in equalizer, and other neat effects.
Be patient.

It seemed to devote more of the iPod's processor power to the actual playing of mp3s, and I've noticed that it now plays 320kbps mp3s fine. It used to skip a lot more.

Sorry. I don't know what's wrong. Must be a server problem.

Well I don't like 1.0.3 as I now can't play my mono talking book MP3's.
1.0.2 and earlier played them fine, but the latest release does not.
HOW IS THAT AN IMPROVEMENT ?
Let's hope we get 1.0.4 or 1.1 tomorrow with fixes for the current problems.
