Hello,

just got a brand new Ibook 700MHz from Apple, which does not work.... After a good hour spent with Apple Care talking to a (very nice but slightly incompetent) first level technician and a (more competent but somewhat condescending) 'tech specialist', I was told to boot in 9.2 with CD and do an zeroing all data on the HD.... Okeydokey.... Wait a minute, boot with the 9.2 Cd... what 9.2 CD. Ah yeah, Apple DOES NOT provide a 9.2 CD anymore. And the software restore CD does not work.... Oh and you CANNOT do an zero all data erase from the 10.2 Install CD.....

Hence my question, is there any way to extract the 9.2 image forn the software restore, i can see it through BBEdit, it's hidden). Since its hidden I canno do anything with it. How can i unhide it?

Help appreciated.

Villa
