Jaguar was a bit slow on my iBook Dual-USB with that doggy 66 MHz bus, so my primary boot OS is now 9.2. I had gotten away from it with OS X on both my Ti Book and PowerMac, so returning was a blast of nostalgia . Much snappier on this machine. I had fooled around with YellowDog Linux for a while, but I'm no expert and found myself totally frustrated. Sound problems, AirPort card not working, blech! Forget YDL, I'm sticking with a classic: OS 9

Yes, we are being force fed OSX, whether we like it or not. But we all know that Apple could not keep the new OS looking and behaving like OS9 because OSX is so slow there had to be some distracting changes and eyecandy to take ones mind off the annoyance. But a slow OS is good for apple, because once again, everyone is unsatisfied even with their "screaming" ghz machines. What a joke. Can you imagine how fast OS 7.5.3 would be on one of these (and how often it would crash?

But up-time on OSX is just great. Just wish everything didn't "have" to look so blurry. Quartz anti-aliasing?....why didn't they just call it what is really is....Blur. I don't understand the facination with it. Text never looks "better" with normal text sizes, just blurry, and if you enlarge it big enough to really take advantage of Quartz, it is too big to comfortably read.
Yes we will all eventually have to swallow OSX...legs, fur, and tail.

Criticizing anything Apple does will get you shot down big time on this forum. However, I have to agree with you. Since when is bigger, slower, and more complicated better? Both XP and OS X have that in common...

Now put on your helmet, cause here it comes!
And now for something completely different...
