Not technically Apple issue but who knows:

A client today said my normal email , website base email, I use for everything --replying to her unsolicited inquiry was in her spam folder. (I told her to train it not spam)

I think I lose more business per year from this one issue than anything else.

But there is nothing I can do right? Gmail, will lump me - a self employed visual artist - who is responding to a potential client who has emailed me first— in the same folder with spammers who are sending out 100 million email unsolicited a day.

If this is correct and there is nothing Ican do, then curious why this trillion dollar company can’t get this right..

I found my gmail spam went way down, after I stopped ordering v!agh-ra through that account.

Everyone gets the spam treatment at some point. It's a cost of email being free to send.

If you are sending mass email to a mail list, it's possible some of those people, even if they subscribed or have initiated contact, have flagged you as spam rather than hit the unsubscribe button. Gmail and other providers pick up on that.

Your mass emails do have an unsubscribe button, right? If not, that's a flag right there that you are spam. Also make sure your subject lines are descriptive and not spammy.

Think we have discussed it before... do a search on "email marketing preventing being tagged as spam"

This is not mass mail..

I do those too, but I'm careful not to use my core email for those.

This prospective client emailed me out of the blue, and my reply email, to her unsolicited inquiry (I don't use for mass emails) went her spam.

If you sent the mass mails from the same computer or home network, your IP may have been flagged as a spam source, which would make any email coming from that computer flagged as spam.

I send from home with Max Max but the use a service's servers, so it's their IP. in settings says: smtp server access is: mail.smtp2go.com:2525

So company I use smtp it's going out on their servers...
