am thinking about getting a touch, to replace my dying palm tx. now that i can do datebook entry on the touch, am excited.

but..is there a note-taking app? even something like the 'notes' in apple mail?

It's probably not what you're looking for until Apple adds an option to sync the notes taken or until SDK apps come out.

While the included Notes app is limited by its ability to sync any notes you've taken back to your computer it does have an option to email them. Not the prettiest method but it does get the job done.
