Apparently this thing is real, or at least in development at MS

They are also working on their own "community-built" music service. I guess that means something halfway between iTunes and MySpace

Will this thing be another Xbox, taking a huge bite out of the market and winning favor over the competition?

Or will it join the ranks of all the other failed MS-backed services? I thought Urge was supposed to be MS's big push into music? Guess it flopped.

You can bet the interface will suck but they're willing to lose money on every unit shipped so it could do well.

I disagree. It has all the makings of an authentic UFO picture.

If Apple continues to upgrade iTunes, iTMS and the iPods, they will continue to dominate the music player market.

This means getting a widescreen video iPod out sometime, adding features and so on.

I think the screen shows the clip saying, "You seem to be listening to music, can I help?"

Why can these spyshots never be the least bit focused or high res?

I have yet to see a complete solution from ANY other company. From the record companies, to my computer to my iPod... it's all Apple.

MS may be working on the "iPod Killer", but I have a feeling they're trying to kill the iPod of today and yesterday. But Apple is working on the iPod of tomorrow, and MS will be left behind once again.

How many times have we heard that "Company X" is coming out with the "iPod Killer"? Its just like the Death of Apple calls. They come every so often and they are all false. So until I actually SEE a product that is actually on the market, I'm not going to worry about it in the least.

No, MS has no R&D department. They get to use Apple's for free.

Ya that is what I was thinking. Just looks like one of those stupid windows smartphones with a white circle grafted on.

Here is the real iPod killer. The iPod doesn't stand a chance against this baby.

The reason I posted this is because its a Reuters story and I figured it was credible.

But there's a good chance it's BS. There seems to be a trend where reputable companies, such as analysts, C|Net, and even as high up as the Wall Street Journal, have published rumours just because everyone else is publishing them.

I used CSI voice recognition on my computer to "Enlarge... enhance... enhance... rotate..." with my sophisticated imaging software, MS Paint. Just as I suspected, it's a Bigfoot sighting:

That is the first iPaq. They got longer under HP with the fat antenna. It's definitely a Pocket PC in the blurry photo. The antenna is the biggest give away. No the design is. Even SWG will tell you that the design is like an unattractive ghey who can't shut up.

Because then it's a lot harder to mistake an iPaq with a bottlecap in front of it for an actual music player.

MOSR supposedly has proof that this "concept" iPod killer was found on Bill Gates' desk the other day...

Again, this is only a rumor, but I take it as fact because I can.

Engadget cryptically said that they got to see the device, so I'm beginning to thing it is real. Even if the thing is really good (which I think is possible, but not likely), I think Apple will stay competitive.
