Does anyone have an old bluetooth phone that they use just as a bluetooth remote for their Mac with Salling Clicker or Romeo, and not as a phone? I'm guessing that an older phone like an SE T68i would be pretty cheap second hand now, and would make a good remote control unit for iTunes etc.

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

you would need to put a sim into the phone to get any functionality out of it. I'm not sure if an expired sim would work. Just get an rf mouse and hold that in your hand. It doubles as a mouse

My Sony Ericsson T610 works fine with an inactive SIM from T-Mobile. The phone is unlocked, but will not power on fully without a SIM.
Once on, Bluetooth and everything work as normal, including iSync even.

So theoretically you could buy a cheap phone and use it for this purpose? Cool

I use a SE T68i regularly with my iBook via bluetooth. Download Romeo to control iTunes, Keynote, etc. It works fantastically! But like mentioned above, be sure to get an old SIM card so that the phone functions.
