A friend of mine has just dropped his 4 year old iMac and now has a chip and cracks in the middle of the screen. Anybody have any idea how much it might cost to repair?

Cheers

There are a lot of repair sites out there for Apples. I would get estimates.

Yeah I realise that, but I was wondering if anybody had a ballpark figure to see if it was cost effective or not.

You need to be a little more specific on which model iMac. Model, size of screen, etc...

LCD repairs are pretty pricey... from Apple they can be anywhere from $600-700 to $1200+. But, some iMacs are easier than others to replace their LCDs. And non-Apple stores (an Apple Authorized Service Provider) might do it for less.
