I know I've seen articles before on how to convince a unix server to emulate .Mac, for the purposes for iPhoto, iCal, the home directory, etc..

I suspect it has to do with setting up WebDav on the target server, and then modifying the .hosts file on the local mac, so that it thinks the server is mac.com, but I'm not sure what else it would entail..

I'd love to sync things between machines, or easily share/publish things from within applications, but it seems somewhat silly to pay $100/year when I already have several of my own servers..

Thoughts appreciated,
Colin

I'm not sure, but if possible and rather easy, I'd be interested in knowing how as well...

Pinkskin,
Isn't this better suited for the unix or software sections, not the Lounge?

What's with all the non-Lounge stuff in here lately?
You heard me! Sod off, Sadr!

There was an article on O'Reilly about this:
