I'm not sure what your problem is, but Word 6.0 is quite possibly the worst version of Word you could ever install for Mac. Its horrendously buggy and doesn't offer too much in the way of improvements over the sleek and fast (and perfectly functional) Word 5.1 (which I still use from time to time). Word 6 was made during a particularly heavy period of Microsoft/Apple battling, and it is a classic case of intentionally bloated and buggy Microsoft code (a friend of mine disassembled it and found hundreds of useless delay loops just to make it slow!)
