I want to create Image files of some Kanji I have seen online
Can't seem to be able to Copy/Paste what I see in the browser (Firefox)

onto graphic software like Fireworks or Photoshop?

How can I get my Powerbook to do this?

You can copy and paste Japanese text just like any other kind.

If you're having problems, it's probably the fault of the app you're pasting into. Japanese text is handled by the system just like any other text.

In Photoshop (and I presume fireworks) if you are getting "???" marks instead of Japanese text, it probably means you are using a non-Japanese font in your text box. When you paste the text into whatever app you are using, try switching the font to a Japanese font, like "Osaka".

I am looking for a romji translation for this phrase
is there some kind of software that does this?

I remember seeing some sort of function provided by Excite.jp that translated web pages to Japanese. Try adding the url of this page to the end of www.excite.co.jp/world/english/web/body?wb_url= (or just press here), after that you can run the phrase through WWWJDIC to get the romaji. Who knows how accurate it is, but you can give it a try.

I already answered his question via email, but I'll post it here anyway.

ハイチ、あなたと再会できたら、もう二度と失うまい。
haichi, anata to saikai dekitara, mou nido ushinaumai.

Software to do this? There's translation software, but machine translation is terrible. And then converting from Japanese to romaji is also impossible to get 100% correct. The only way to get even halfway decent results is to get a translator.
