Greetings,

I'm using DNSupdate to update my IP address to dyndns.org ....

... the problem is that it's updating my IP address to the server as my local IP [192.168.0.2] versus updating it with my real IP address .....

any clues?

also, what exactly is "enable wildcard"?

thanks

I don't have it in front of me, but I thought I recalled there was an "external" option in there somewhere. That would allow it to look for your ext. IP.

I also use DNS Update with the dyndns.org service and it's really easy to fix the issue you're facing. Go into your client update program (I use DNS Update v 2.7). From the "File" menu, select "Edit User" (Cmd + u). Click on the host and select the "edit user" icon. Then select the option next to the "Interface" setting to be "external". Your actual options and mileage may vary. This works flawlessly for me and should solve your issue...

Thanks for the comments! I have found the setting, and it works perfect now

Hopefully the daemon doesn't suck up too much memory
