disclaimer: I'm not a super technical person, I can get around a MAC pretty well but all that technical jargon well just throws me for a loop...here is what I know.

My G4 tower is about 5 years old. I got it right after OSX came out. (It has OSX and OS9 on it).

About 3 years ago, I had the power supply "replaced" in my tower, I say that in quotes b/c they never really fixed it and had I known then what I know now I would have sued the s**t out of them, but its still kicking...BARELY.

recently a friend gave me a pretty much empty tower, its a G4, but I know its older than mine. All it has in it is the power supply.

Will this new power supply I've aquired work in my G4 tower? or is it a lost cause? I love my baby and I neeeeeeed it to stay alive for a least another year.

Depends on the specific models. Check your models here. The Gigabit models have a special power supply (different number of pins on the main connector) compared to the PCI graphics and AGP graphiocs models.
I do not like those green links and spam.
I do not like them, Sam I am.
