I have some screwball filetype problem with the installation of Photoshop Elements on my G5. For other user accounts on my machine, the file /Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 2/Photoshop Elements 2.0 shows correctly as an application, and for those users it runs fine. For me, Finder/Get Info reports the file type "TextEdit document", so of course I can't run it.

I've tried all of the obvious things, up to and including trashing the program's prefs in my ~/Library/Preferences before re-installing the software from CD. Nothing works. Adobe won't help me, because Elements 2.0 is obsolete. The ADC experts that I know around here can't figure it out. If somebody reading this understands and can explain how to fix it, that'd be a big help.
