I just wanted to clarify something

So a powermac g3 (blue and white) will take a maximum of 256mb per ram slot

and a

powermac g4 (agp graphics) will take a maximum of 512mb per ram slot

is that correct?

Yes. The speeds start at PC-100 for the B&W G3 and early G4s, going up with later G4s.
