Hi,

I understand that type1 fonts are supported by ATSUI 1.2. I have exhaustively searched for, and have not found, a plain English interpretation of this. The most informative (but still falling short) bit of information I found is at http://developer.apple.com/technotes...76.html#atsui.

Are type1 fonts scaled in MacOs9 across the board? Only in newer programs supporting ATSUI 1.2? Are separate screen fonts/printer fonts still required?

It would sure be nice to not have to use ATM!

There has been extensive discussion of that subject at http://www.graphicpower.com.

Apparently the scaler is still needed for now. Whether or not it will be needed when more apps are ATSUI compliant is yet to be seen, according to that discussion. There may be some font experts out there that were not a part of that discussion who could shed some light on this one.
