I had both players tuned to NPR at the same time, and despite WMP 15 or 20 sec. delay I have to say that it never skipped... that is until it quit unexpectedly.

All in all I was disappointed with Quicktime's player performance because it skipped a lot in comparison. (I have a 56k dial-up connection, by the way)

I really hope Apple addresses the skipping problem and sudden loss of audio or video, which often happens. Does anybody know why this happens and why it hasn't been corrected?

Install the QuickTime 5 Public Preview 2 (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/preview) make sure that your control panel is set to 56k Modem/ISDN. Try NPR again. Apple with QuickTime 5 is implmenting Skip Protection for Audio and Visual. So if it skips or if you find bugs or whatever send in a bug report (http://www.apple.com/quicktime/preview/feedback/qtpreviewform.html)

We want QuickTime 5 to be the best Media platform so lets help it be that.
