My macbook can see the Airport just fine. But it wont configure it. I'm told the only way I can do this is to reset it and connect via an ethernet cable. Is this true, or is there some other way I can set it up to work with my Macbook? The previous owner passworded it, if i try to reset the password, it still tells me to give it an IP, I give it an IP, and then it gives me a config error.

Actually, I did reset it. It then asks for an IP and new password. I give it the default IP and new password. It gives me, unfailingly, a "configuration error."

That is very strange, as the default configuration doesn't ask for an IP address. It should automatically get its IP address using DHCP. Could you perhaps post a picture or two showing us the messages?
