Sometimes my daughter (3 yrs old) comes up with some rather clever ideas:

Me: "I thought your favorite color was yellow?"
Her: "No, it's burple."
"You mean purple, with a P?"
"No." *exasperated sigh* "You have to mix blue and purple together. That's burple, papa."

Reminds me of (trigger warning: much sadness):

Eric's Archived Thoughts: rebeccapurple
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

I recently saw him at a conference, giving a talk on Designing for Crisis. You don't often cry at design conferences, but now it's easy to put myself in someone else's shoes and imagine what I want a website to deliver when I'm in panic mode. Wish the marketing staff could see that talk.

On another note, I spent a good 15 minutes with my 3yo greatnephew yesterday discussing the incoming dragon invasion.

Him: Here they come! <gestures to the far end of yard>
Me: <brandishes sword>
Him: No, wait, these are good dragons.
: I go back to listening to adults talk :
Him: Oh no! More dragons! These are bad dragons.
Me: <brandishes magic wand> Bueno Dragono!
Him: Ok, they are good dragons now.
Him: More bad dragons! The good dragons are fighting them.
<blue jay lands in yard>
Him: Go away bad dragon!

That story is currently #1 on hackernews. Odd coincidence?
