I looked at the items on eBay and reported them to eBay's fraud division. They are already investigating one of the items. I gave them 3 more to investigate.

Why lock the original thread?

And also, it's perfectly legal to "pre-sell" items on eBay as long as the seller states an estimated shipping date and includes the fact that it's a pre-sell to the potential buyers.

I also saw those two G5's. Obviously fraud, but I e-mailed the seller anyway. To my surprise he has been responding back. Is there anything I can get from him, information-wise, that can help put a stop to his fraudulent activity? For those who were unable to get to his auction cause they were cancelled, he was selling two G5's for $2999 each with the following specs:

Dual 2GHz PowerPC G5
8GB DDR400 SDRAM (PC3200) - 8x1GB
2x250GB Serial ATA - 7200rpm
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
Apple Cinema HD Display (23" flat panel)
Apple Cinema HD Display (23" flat panel) + Apple DVI to ADC Adapter
AirPort Extreme Card
Bluetooth Module
56k V.92 internal modem
SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW)
Fibre Channel PCI Card
Apple Keyboard & Apple Mouse - U.S. English
Mac OS X - U.S. English
iPod - 30GB
Logitech Z-680 THX 5.1 Speakers & Monster 2-meter Cable
AirPort Extreme Base Station (with modem and antenna port)
.Mac Promotional Bundle
APP for Power Mac (w/ or w/o display) - Enrollment Kit

Hmmmm, i think maybe he just forgot to put the 1 in front of the 2999. Let me know what you think I could do to help.

Adios,

You gotta be careful on ebay, I have successfully bought and sold cpus, but recently my account was taken over by a scammer who was selling power macs through my account. Luckily ebay caught it in time, but I am still trying to get my account back.
