I own several Macs, and I have a 512MB shuffle that I got as a gift, but I never used it so I gave it to my girlfriend.

I used to own an iPod, but it disappeared one day.

I think we know that. He was saying that before he got his iPod mini, he had a Mac but not an iPod.

I got a 2ndG iPod years ago and, when I got it home, realised it wasn't going to sync with my Toshiba. However, I loved the design economy of the iPod so much I went out and got an iBook to go with the iPod. That's kind of like getting a car to go with your stereo. But I have never looked back. Now I have an iPod video and a PowerBook SD. I still have to use PCs now and then. They literally repulse me.

But I see what's going on here. You're trying to divide Mac users into professionals for whom the Mac is a workhorse -- and who are above owning an iPod -- and lowly recreational users.

Okay. I'm the latter.

Once more, a poll without the correct option for me. "Usta." We used to own a Mac (iBook, G4 800MHz) but no iPod. Then, about a year ago, we got one for us and one for our son-iPods that is. Both 4th Gen "Photo iPods," his is a 20GB and ours is a 60GB model.

I bought my PowerBook a few years ago when there was a promo to get an iPod and a printer with it. I've also added a nano since then.

I have never paid for a iPod but I was given a hand me down. Almost never use it.

I had my g4 long before owning an ipod. I got the 3g ipod from my brother who didn't know you could buy a replacement battery. He sold it to me for $30 dollars and it's still alive and kicking with a battery.

It was funny because he bought his ipod photo and was going on and on about how his is so badass because it has color. A month later the video came out. I laughed in his face and all of a sudden he "doesn't need video, im all about the music"

f'kn xp'ers I tell ya!

"No, I own a Mac but not an iPod and own a 3rd party MP3 player"
This is plainly not possible.

EDIT: Damn, it is!

I own 10 working Macs & have bought 3 iPods for myself, and 5 for family members. Does that count?

Were you drunk when you made this poll? Based on the question you asked ("Do you own a Mac but not a [sic] iPod?"), these should be the responses:

No, I own both and they kick ass!
Yes, but I own a 3rd-party MP3 player
Yes

I own a Mac but not an iPod, but it's not because my Mac is only for work and I don't own any other mp3 player.

I bought the very first iPod right after it was released (it was no stereotype at that time, believe me). I used the iPod a lot to carry data between my office Powerbook and my home Powerbook and to listen to music and audiobooks on my walk into the office.

I sold the iPod some months ago and replaced it with a shuffle (because now I have a thinkpad without firewire at the office). But I rarely use my shuffle. The iPod hype is over (like the walkman hype ended a few years after the walkman came out) and I am back to my usual music hearing habits. I have a great yamaha stereo and a cd sounds much better on this machine than an mp3 on the iPod.

I own a Mac, but I don't own any MP3 player. I have no need for a portable player so I use my old G3 Powerbook as a wireless iTunes jukebox at home.

I own a few macs and the corpse of an iPod. I never thought I'd be able to get by without it but, amazingly, I have for almost a year now.

I'll take the option:

"Yes, I own Macs. I don't own an iPod because I have something called a 'stereo' both at home and installed in an item called an 'automobile'."
