1) Apple's iSync cellphone compatible list seems a little out-of-date. Will phones that are very similar to one another work in iSync, or is it best to use Apple's list as gospel?

2) If I'm getting service through Verizon, what happens if I get a CDMA compatible phone that isn't sold through Verizon? Will it work, or is it best to stick to what Verizon pushes?

I'm looking for a nice iSync compatible phone, but I don't want to spend a whole lot of money. It looks like my options are limited, outside of Motorola USB phones.

Any general recommendations?

I know there are a 23094820934 threads about phones, but I couldn't find the answer to these specific questions.

Thanks in advance!

I have the Motorola e815 and it works very well with iSync (yep, it's a little outdated, but most of the phones that are slight upgrades seem to work with few problems). I only do the basics, but it seems to synch phone numbers and calendar events. It doesn't synch images (not a big deal) and the calendar seems somewhat limited (there aren't any notes, etc.)

Verizon stinks, but their coverage in the DC area is second to none. They cripple their phones so you can't upload ringtones and a handful of other gizmos that I could care less about, but it seems to be a big deal for other people.
