Hey everyone. I have been on this forum for a while and over the last 8 months or so I have been working on my first software product, YummySoup!. It is recipe management and sharing application that has a lot of features and looks great.

Here is a list of some of the features:
-Clean, consistent, easy to use Interface. If you can use OS X, you can use YummySoup!

-Browse recipes just like browsing your E-Mail

-Simple, Single Panel Recipe Editing

-Easy on the eyes and easily adjustable Full Screen View

-Super intelligent navigating system similar to iPhoto

-An online database which you can browse just as it were part of your local library!

-You can publish your favorite recipes to the online library

-Email recipes that look just like print outs, with an included export file so your friends can easily import the recipes into their copy of YummySoup!

-Smart groups - Want a Group of all recipes added in the last 2 weeks, or a group of all the
recipes that use chocolate as an ingredient? How about both? No Problem!

-Multiple Shopping Lists

Take a look at it at HungrySeacow.com

Also, if you like what you see, digg it! Digg YummySoup!

Looks very nice. Couple of suggestions --
--bugs--
* Sorting by the "cooking time" column is strictly alphabetical, instead of by the total time (e.g. "1 hour" comes before "20 minutes" comes before "5 minutes").
* Clicking "enlarge text" in the full-screen mode for the first time sets the font to a tiny size, perhaps 1 pt?
* Change "AF" to "Autofill" in the preferences.

--feature suggestions--
* I didn't see an obvious way to scale recipes?

* Have the shopping list combine ingredients from different recipes.
* Filter out non-shopping ingredients (like "water") from the shopping list.

* It'd be nice to have a plug-in architecture for online libraries. (I'd use it to write a plugin for epicurious, but don't tell anybody...)
* A timer -- or multiple timers -- on the full-screen mode would be handy.

Thanks for the feedback.

Changing the way the recipes sort the time columns is a great idea.

The full screen text issue is a bug that has been corrected on my development build. There is a slim chance that running YummySoup! for the first time will do that, so at least it didn't affect all users.

Recipe scaling is something that will show up in a future release as will a button or menu command that will take the selected shopping list and condense it, removing the ingredient groups and recipe names. This way, if you want to make a pie filling an buy store bought crust, you can add the pie to the shopping list, select the ingredients for the crust and delete them. Once you are settled with the items that you are going to make, then condense the ingredients for a more appropriate shopping list.

Hrmm, filtering out unneeded shopping list items like water is a great idea, I never thought of that.

Plug-in architectures is a great idea which I would love to do (some day).

I never liked the idea of a timer, but if enough requests are made for one, then it will happen.

There are still a lot of things that I think are missing from YummySoup! that I will eventually get to.

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, that is something that will be in a future release.

LOL, it sure would be a lot of work...
Cooking weights and measures - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Conversions: US Standard to Australian - Allrecipes

Obviously this is something that would not easily be done.

One thing that I forgot to add to YummySoup! is a way of telling if a recipe is in what measurement standard. This is something that I will add soon because I have people all over the world sending me recipes, so some will be metric, some standard.

One addition that I will add is being able to choose if you want to view standard, metric or both types of recipes in the Online Library. That will be a good way to get around not having a conversion system for the mean time.
