Hi there

I have an older iMac. I had a corrupted file and had to format my whole system. I restored it to mountain lion (since i had the disk) then had to update to mountain lion (at this point i have no data on it). upon updating to mountain lion and used migration assistant and transfered all of my information from Time Machine.
After finishing i've noticed that no preferences were saved, including some desktop documents.
Is there anyway of fully restoring my previous system specifically maintaining preferences and all apps essentially just what it was like before ?

Thank you very much

also i cant find some of my previous information such as music, photos etc..
