And what exactly is saying "it's ovah" when we all know this is just the beginning?

I'm sure you've noticed, Sterling isn't the most rational of dudes.

As an aside... my personal feeling actually is a case isn't over until all appeals are exhausted or the person gives up. The likeliness of the appeals working doesn't factor into it for me.

This is just me. Not saying other views are wrong.

Edit: I'll also admit this is partly based in most people not mounting frivolous appeals like Sterling will.

All the way to the SCOTUS is my guess.

He's also filed another completely separate lawsuit, as I noted above.

He's going to lose a lot of money. But he doesn't care...he's crazy after all.

I stand by my earlier prediction.

Sterling is willing to spend one billion dollars (half Ballmer's offer) in legal fees to stick it to whomever he can.

It should also be noted, his victory condition isn't winning any of these cases, though he'd like that, his victory condition is to tie shit up, and drag people, along with the Clippers name, through the mud.

In this, he will be victorious.

The same way a sports game can be over before time runs out.

But, not over in that everyone will be rapt by the losing team's wacky, delay-of-game shenannigans.

He's not going to win. He's going to make it wildly annoying for everyone involved and if he lives long enough, likely end up in some sort of settlement because everyone wants him to go away.

But he's not going to win.

But don't you realize shortcut, his goal is to stretch that out as long as possible, so in that regard he will win, much like when the Clippers are down 5 at the end of the game and foul over and over, trying to prolong the game, that afterwards, when they still lose, the coach gets go on TV and still say they 'won' the fouling portion of the game.

sarcasm

From my perspective, this is just starting to get good. If that ruins your day, I think you're being touchy.

That's another reason I think it's over - with the ruling the drama feels over. Granted maybe he has some lawyer jujitsu to give him a chance that I can't anticipate, but there's nothing dramatic about obvious stalling for me.

Steve Ballmer's bid to purchase the team closed Tuesday after the entry of an order by a California court confirmed the authority of Shelly Sterling to sell the team on behalf of the Sterling Family Trust, the league announced.

Shelly Sterling Officially Named "Clippers Number 1 Fan" For Life

The NBA made Steve Ballmer's ownership of the Los Angeles Clippers official today, even though this was breaking news a couple months ago. As part of the sale, the Clippers have agreed to bestow a collection of perks upon Shelly Sterling, one of which will designate her as the Clippers' "Number 1 Fan" for the rest of her life.

That is some incredible Game of Thrones ish right there. Can we bring Tywin Lannister back next season just to marry Shelly Sterling?

In related news, one of your appeals courts shut down an appeal yesterday (no idea whether it was a direct appeal of this ruling, however).

In further related news, a review of this thread would produce some very interesting psychoanalysis.

Honestly, I had to read that three times because I initially read it as "Zlos Angeles Unes".

What is wrong with me?

What It Was Like To Cover The Sterling-Era Clippers, Where Madness Ruled
There really is a human being in there somewhere but you gotta go in so deep. Nobody’s been in deep enough to find it yet.
