Has anybody purchased or played the new "Wii Play" games yet? I'm interested to hear how they are compared to "Wii Sports" and everything.

From what I've read, the games are more like little tech demos, and overall bleh. But, if you are gonna get another remote anyway, I would spend the extra $10 and get the games too.

I just got it at lunch today but haven't played it yet. I am also going to download Ice Climbers as soon as I get home, that was one of my favorite old games ever!

I will let you know as soon as we crack it open, but if you need a remote why not spend the extra $10 and get the 9 games too. From what I hear Tanks! is very very addictive.

Wii Play certainly proved very popular in our house. As with Wii Sports, it's much more fun with two or more players. "Laser Hockey" (think table, air hockey) and the Shooting Range game are both really good fun with single or two players.

If you're going to pick up another Wii remote anyway, then Wii Play is definitely worth the extra couple of quid.

oh yeah, probably worth mentioning - No standing-up or excessive arm swinging necessary.

I already have 2 Wii remotes, but a 3rd won't hurt. I'll buy it if I can find it.

For the price it was worth it, we needed another wiimnote for mario party next month. Had a few hours of fun yesterday and I foresee it getting some decent play time.

Yup, for $10 plus the cost of a wiimote, its worth it. More fun random games to play with groups of people.

Got it a few months ago, when I first bought my Wii. Fun, but rarely play it now. Worth the $10 though.

Edit: "new" wii play games? Is there another set or something as a sequel to the ones that came out in November last year?

IMHO for the price you cannot beat it. You get 9 fun light party games, a few of them are great fun with friends, the others like the bubble one are meh imo. But for $10 more than the price of the controller the price can't be beat

It must have just been released in North America or something. One of the most popular videos on YouTube yesterday was a shot of someone poking the Mii in Wii Play.

It was worth the extra £10 above the remote. Games aren't bad, gameplay doesn't last though.
