Hi

I've had an issue with my iPhone 4 and decided to get it replaced. After arguing for 15 mins that I shouldn't get a white box model because I'm within 30 day return period, I finally walked out with a new week 26 phone [note the date.] My previous phone was week 35 and when looking from an angle, the sides were very bright and light would bleed onto the screen. Week 26 didn't have those problems, but I had to take it back due to home button not responding. Got a week 38 phone which is all good but the same screen issue is still there.

Anybody with your iPhones weeks 30 and up [Approx 4th and so number in SN] have the same issue? I have a good phone and don't want to risk getting a crappy one again, but if it's just a one off case then I might as well just take it back again :/

I'm not sure I understand the condition you are describing, but this may make you feel better in the meantime:

What I mean was:

Look at the upper right corner of the screen and tilt the device so that you're looking from an extreme angle. There's a line going thru the whole right side that's really bright.

I went to the Genius Bar and his phone nor all the display phones showed the issue; however, my phone is the second one I've had with precisely that problem. I really got a good phone but it's bugging me seeing others have good screens. I don't want to exchange it because I'm probably gonna get one with the same issue. The only way is to return and maybe wait a month or so until they figure this crap out...

Okay. Copy that.

Mine's a week 26, so I'm out of your range. Like your original one, it doesn't show the problem.

Try googling "iPhone 4 light leak -white", and set it to only give you results from recently (otherwise, even though you have a 4 in the search terms, you'll still pick up results from iPhone 3s which have light leaks).

Also, "iPhone 4 bright sides" is close enough to "turn around, bright eyes", that now I've got "Total Eclipse of the Heart" playing in my head. Thanks a lot.

Hurra Torpedo can cure that (or at least make it tremendously enjoyable):

"...nothing I can say..."

Glad I'm not the only one who had that happen.

Now that was entertaining.

Also a fan of the literal interpretation of the video:

Much improved.

For the first half I was asking myself "why is that oven the drummer is using all caved in?"

I got my answer.
