Sony's new PlayStation Mobile store is now live. The store is
accessible by downloading the Sony PlayStation Mobile app through the Google Play store, but only on PlayStation Certified Android handsets, or the PS Vita. Naturally, most of Sony's current smartphone range meets the criteria, but HTC has also been granted PlayStation Cerfication for its HTC One-series handsets.
To get started, users need to set their Android device to accept apps and install apps that are not sold through the Google Play store (which is set to off by default). Once the PlayStation Mobile store app is downloaded, users can access a range of classic PS One titles as well as other more recent games. A full list can be found
here, but headling titles include
Crash Bandicoot,
Everybody's Golf 2,
Kula World,
MediEvil and
Tekken.
The PlayStation Mobile store is available now in the U.S., Japan, Canada, the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Australia. Other handset makers to sign up for PlayStation Mobile certification include Sharp and Fujitsu.
