Almost certain that it's the security updates and very little else. Intel graphics drivers are new, but ATi and nVidia are the same as it always was, and OpenGL support is almost identical to 10.6.3. Most likely they pushed this out to make sure that everyone got the Flash update in a timely manner and held back untested graphics updates until 10.6.5.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Safari 5 is included also, so if you didn't upgrade that yet, installing 10.6.4 will do that for you.

Performance for me seems a lot better than 10.6.3. For example, when closing Mail, the app would take several seconds to fully close. Now, it closes instantly. Of course, that might not really be an update, but just cache or something being cleared?

10.6.4 fixes a number of bugs that enabled Adobe Applications to continue to run. Apple engineers report that the update "fixes them Adobe guys good"

Steam warned me today that 10.6.4 will reduce graphic performance.

I got the same thing. It only warns about Nvidia. My Intel has no performance to be reduced.

Me too. I also noticed that a bunch of my system preferences had reverted back to default (my firewall application settings all got nuked, for one).

No biggie, but kind of irritating.

for the last few updates, I've tended to lose icon caches, but a reboot has fixed it.

This time it also reset the default RSS app from netnewswire to Safari. NNW offered to fix it, but that didn't actually help, so I went in to Safari, changed the rss default to Safari then back to NNW. This seems to have fixed it.
