I just downloaded this. Does anybody know what's in it and what it purports to fix?

I dunno. Some bug fixes, maybe a new feature or two? How about better support for Unicode Hebrew, Arabic, and Farsi?

Actually, it was an astute and amusing comment on society. Your reaction just proves that.

Wait... I know: let's fight.
Actually, I am looking for a Word update. I'd like to see some fixes around slow responses, slow scrolling, back deleting in Outline takes half a second each. And this on a screaming G5.

Actually it was quite racist and totally uncalled for. You think all Arabs are terrorists? If not then my position stands: racist comment that has no place in a Mac forum.

No, of course I don't. I'm also pretty sure Spheric Harlot doesn't. Get a sense of humour.

In addition to this (since I use Hebrew):
"I dunno. Some bug fixes, maybe a new feature or two? How about better support for Unicode Hebrew, Arabic, and Farsi?"
How about VBA that actually can do something? -- even 1/2 of what is available on the Windows versions (especially in Excel) would be a major step forward.

Ignore the argumentative nature of this poster. He is old and can't engage in meaningful dialog
very long. Therefore, management asks that you at least humor him. Thanks.

I have a sense of humor and that was not funny. Someone mentions Arabic and Farsi and the first post after that says "Terrorist." You really find that humorous?

In the lounge, maybe. In a serious thread where someone was making a serious comment, that was just sh being a down-and-out prick.

I think the statement may only have been humorous to those of us who frequent the Political lounge and understand Spheric's feelings on the issue.

Considering the irrational reaction to terrorism and the crazy FUD that pervades society at the moment, yes, yes I do.
See here for an example.
Oh, and I don't bother reading the political forum. Too much effort

"Why do american journalists always pick some screaming extremist maniac to be the voice of the muslim population?"
Thats from a iranian comic, so no need to pull the racist card.

I suppose you missed that the post referred to "Hebrew" as well, right?
So do you think that I believe all Jews AND Arabs (AND Persians, since Farsi was mentioned as well) to be "terrorists"?
Or do you think it was a caustic snap at people quick to judge?

So I look to this thread for info about the update and instead I get 3/4 of the posts related to some ass who took a comment seriously and decided to be an even bigger idiot and respond. Do people a favor and keep it to the lounge.

As the originator of the "Hebrew, Arabic, and Farsi" theme, I feel compelled to comment thusly: While an undergraduate and Brandeis University, I originally was planning to major in Politics and minor in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies. Friends jokingly called me the "terrorism major."
This doesn't mean that the "Terrorist" comment in this thread wasn't tasteless and stupid, but it's hardly a hate or war crime, either.

If you read the entire thread, you would have seen a meaning it was in jest. Then, unlike your posts, I offered a suggestion as to what the original thread was meant for.
Do you try and derail every thread or are you just socially retarded?

I'm terribly sorry that you seriously thought I was calling somebody a terrorist for wanting Hebrew support.
I will try to preface all my future comments in Randman-compatible form, just to make sure that you no longer get confused as to my intent.
Do I really need to cater to ALL of God's lower creatures Mr. The-Short-Bus-Joke-Was-In-Good-Taste-Just-Look-For-The-Invisible-Smiley?
</end of derail>
