No need for more then one account. I can be silly enough with just one.

A monkey walks into a bar and orders a banana. The bar tender says, "what does this look like, a grocery store?" and the monkey says "no it looks like a bar."

I only use this one. My other one,"soul searching", I recently retired at 1007 posts.

EDIT: grammar, not that it matters much

where are the rules posted that explains why one would get banned? I'm just curious to see what they are.

My rule of thumb: If I wasn't supposed to say it or write it in 5th grade, then I shouldn't say it or write it now. (only applies to online communication)

I have retired bout 4 or 5 accounts, but I no longer use them. It all started when I lost the pass to my first account. Then my second account. After that I realized I'd save a lot of time if I just retired them before I forgot the passwords.

Not so much a "joke account", but there was that one time that the registrations were hacked and I couldn't log in under my usual username. I haven't used it in years, though; I wonder if it's even still active.

Then again, even if I only have one name, there are those who would say I have multiple personalities anyway

Voted 'terrible molasses incident' though I really have this one as my posting-from-work account. It was only supposed to be temporary while I was at one contracting job, and it turned out I just plain forgot my old pass. My home machine's still logged in with the regular account, I really should just give this one up.

I also created 2 gimmick accounts to annoy Star Wars Guy, but have no idea what the passwords are anymore!

Well, after about three months of being a memeber here, I noticed my user name had a typeo in it, so I reregistered with the correct spelling. I think I also created a joke account once that amounted to a single post.

DigitalEl is a name I've been using since I was a charter member of AOL. I've long since dropped AOL.

A different name is what I use on everything for the past 3 years or so (.Mac, all my other forums, etc...) But not here, b/c of admitted post count vanity. I didn't wanna start all over.

Section 31 is a name I registered a long time ago and never really used.

Having separate accounts for humor reasons.. I see nothing wrong with that.

There are cowards however that use separate accounts so they can say things they wouldn't normally say with their original account in fear of getting smacked down by the mods.

I have no respect for said people.

They should get BRITE yellow bellies instead of stars.

Damn, I searched forever for this thread (I was just about to start a new one). I remembered it from a couple years ago but could not remember the title. I did about a dozen searches involving postcount and multiple screen names. I thought the phrase used was "historic postcount" or "epic postcount" but apparently the trick was "landmark post count".

I was planning on retiring this account at post 1000 but I accidentally screwed up and missed it. I remember even going on a post spree and waiting at 999 to give some people a little bit of grief - the waiting even made me anxious. I was actually going to retire it in style (or perhaps idiot style) by starting the "Hot Lesbian Action" thread, complete with gratuitous imagery and wait for the mods to kick me. I felt there could be nothing quite like a historic postcount banning to retire an account. But once the 1000 mark was surpassed there was no point.

I feel today is a good a time as any to retire this account. 1111 is symmetric, reflexive, consistent, repeating, and most importantly, an all around leet number. So with that I bid this account fairwell and hop onto another account I have had lurking in the shadows. Maybe when it gets to 1000 I'll remember the HLA thread idea and spread (brief) joy to a few MacNNers before the mods commence the same ritual they have done for infamous members like CA$H so many times before. Most likely I'll forget and I'll see you back here to retire with 1111 on another account. It will be a few years though.

It's been fun.
Genius. You know who.

Wouldn't 1337 be a more elite number?

It'll be much easier if you just comply.

Because I remembered it and it was the appropriate place for it. Although I guess it would be better if the poll was still open.

indeed. But it lacks the noted properties of 1111.
