AirPort Extreme Base Station (without modem and antenna port) $199

whats the difference?

should I pay the extra $50?

Right now I have a cable modem from my local cable tv company connected to my old iMac

I need the Base Station for my 17" PB

will I need the "modem and antenna port"?

The antenna port is there so you can add an external antenna to make your airport range better. The modem port is there so you can use dial-up for your internet.

If you don't need dial-up, you really don't need this base station. Most don't add external antennas to their airiports.

Hope this helps.

More importantly, you should decide if you really need Airport Extreme. If you're mostly going to be surfing the net, downloading and such, just get a Netgear MR814 and save another $110 off the CHEAP AEBS.
