..the new screenshot thread?
a new thread for this subject makes pretty good sense. many of the links posted in the pages before 80 are dead making the page count misleading and the posts within them rekatively useless

No I like it the way it is, it's realy not very chalengeing to click last page rather than the main title, the new one would get clogged up just the same anyway.

why not a thread for system type (10, 10.1, 10.2, 10.3 and so forth) or start a new one each new year?

Roosta I agree with You that thread has gotten extremely long and half the links are dead maybe for the new year we should start a new thread. Or after the thread hits a certain point we start a new one.

I'm not. I'm trying to take a stand against killing the DTP thread, which is silly.

We aren't killing it we are washing it for future usage.

No, what's silly is a thread with hundreds of dead links and non-loading photos.
Nobody is saying delete it, just start a new one where the links are fresh and actually work.

Yeah right.
Most people go to the last few pages anyway. If anything, that thread should remain to show how long gui-ness has been a part of MacNNers (long before I came on board even).
It's like tearing down a historical building. The new one might be prettier and less gusty but it's not going to last as long as it won't have the history that the other does. Or do we start having 8 dozen threads on the same subject?
Besides, I like to look back once in a while and see how trends how changed.
Besides, I also think (no matter what you think of him) that it's appropriate for the first post on that thread to be by Zimphire, with this insane amount of posts he's made on this site.
So, once again, I'll say: History man, history.
