i see my Home Library Cache folder balloon up to 750megs sometimes. i delete it periodically.
so...what's the deal with it? any way to set it to 'self-flush' when it reaches a certain size?
or is that a really bad idea?...

it just annoys me to see so much space used. if i delete it, nothing bad happens (i keep the audio units cache btw).

anyway, any thoughts, advice, lectures greatly appreciated...

What takes a bunch of space on my end is the QuickTime folder, blame the QuickTime trailers from Apple's website.

Also, Software Update caches. Something like 10 MB every time I run Software Update without download anything.

I use Washing Machine to deal with these things. Sure I could do it manually but it came with NetBarrier X5 and the update to v.2 was free of charge, so I can't complain.

Below, Washing Machine listing the Cache section after having ran Software Update and opening Disney's Tangled trailer with QuickTime Player.
