MacBook Pro 10.4.8

I am having some strange sleep issues that I would love to get resolved. Outlined below:

1. On most occasions, closing the lid does not put the computer to sleep immediately like my standard MacBook. I usually experience a 15-30 second delay before the machine actually goes to sleep. On some occasions, the machine does not go to sleep at all. I discover this when I pull the computer out of my bag (toasty hot) and open the lid to see that it is still running from the previous session. My gut feeling is that the machine somehow turns back on with the lid closed.

2. With the lid closed, if I plug the power adapter in to charge (after a day of use), I notice that the machine wakes without being opened.

I just did a clean install yesterday hoping that that would alleviate the issues but it did not. What else can I do?

I have similar issues with my Macbook. It used to freeze on waking after sleep all the time. A recent update seems to have fixed that... but I find about half the time it doesn't sleep when I close the lid. Sometimes in the morning I'll find it still on even though the lid is closed. Just as you said, it will be toasty hot. That certainly can't be good for it.

I have these exact issues on my Macbook Pro! It doesn't go to sleep if I close the lid. And for some reason even if I move it while it's asleep, it'll wake up. Weeeird...
macbook.
