Does the iPod shuffle armband have a protective cover like the sports band, so that your iPod won'd get wet during rain, etc?
I like to run outdoors so the sports case is out of the question. Sometimes it rains and so I would the iPod to be protected.

Alternatively, does it work with the sports case?

Judging by the picture, it doesn't look like it.
You might consider getting one of those runner's arm wallets and keeping it inside there. I ended up buying both the armband and the Sport Case because of this.

Can anybody tell me how big the armband adjusts to? I have 18" arms and most of the regular iPod armbands won't go that big. I'm thinking about getting a Shuffle for the gym.

It definitely doesn't work with the sport case. I played with it at MacWorld. The neat thing about the armband is that the shuffle just plugs into it. It can't plug in when it's in the sport case.

Plugs in? Can you clarify? Does it use the USB connector?

I'm not going to call an ambulance this time because then you won't learn anything.

Yes. It uses the USB connector. The armband has a socket that the USB connector end of the iPod "plugs" into. It's very secure.

Are the armbands showing up in apple stores? They are still saying 5-7 weeks online and I'm getting tired of holding mine while running.

I can't tell from the Apple website. But is the sport case for the shuffle completely enclosed? It looks like just some kind of protection that goes around the shuffle.

It's completely enclosed except for a hole at the end where the headphones plug in. So it's not waterproof.
