My iPod has been frozen for the bast 10 minutes. I had put it in my pocket after syncing with my Mac, and pressed on the part of the case above the play button, so that it would start playing. It didn't, I took it out, and it was frozen. The backlight has been on for 10 minutes (even with the 2 second auto-off), and I'm worried that the iPod may overheat, or the screen may burn.

How do I reboot this thing?

Edit: I had searched prior to posting this, but all I found was that I should press Menu and Play at the same time, which I did for 30 seconds (while connected to my computer). I finally checked Apple's troubleshooting pages, and it seems that the correct combination (at least for the most recent iPods) is Menu and Select. My iPod is back to normal .

Ideally you can hold the play and menu buttons, but you might need to plug it into the AC adapter before doing that. PLugging it in helped me for really tough freezes.

My nephews iPod mini just did this. Anyone know why it freezes? Is Apple aware of the problem?

Firmware Fixes?

If you have Diskwarrior, can run it on an iPod. I've heard of some iPods running out of space or being filled to the max and having some problems. If it continues, try a reinstall.
