Hello,

I need some help. I just got a new 12" iBook and need a sleeve I am looking at the:

Booq Vyper.XS
Booq PowerSleeve 12
Tom Bihn Monolith

I was wondering if you could give me feedback on these sleeves and suggest any others.
I need a sleeve I can put in my backpack along with all my books. So it needs to offer a lot of protection for my iBook. Thanks

Um, what about Radtech's sleeves? http://www.radtech.us
They also have some other great laptop gear for the iBook

For those needing a more professional appearance and wishing to carry a few papers, business cards, etc, Dell one works well on a 12" iBook.

I have the Vyper, and I like the look but it leaves scuffs on the edges of the iBook

Scuffs? Ahh.. that's not good.
Can you post a pic or two please...
I'm thinking about getting Booq Vyper for my new 12" iBook to prevent it from getting scuffed, not to get it all scuffed up
What size is your iBook?
Did you get the one with foam padding?

I just picked up the incase 12" ibook sleeve at the Manhattan Apple Store a couple days ago, and I think it's great! It fits like a glove and protects the laptop well. It's softsided, with double-layer neoprene, so if you want something a bit more robust like the vyper, it may not be for you.

Is there other sleves better than Booq or Sleevecase out there that won't scuff my new-born 12" iBook?

Scuffs came from the black foam padding rubbing up against the white plastic. It is a very tight fit.

I use and recommend the Brenthaven one sold by Apple. I think it might only be available to education customers, though.

I got the following questions about the Brenthaven sleeve:
Will it protect the iBook in a backpack full of books when they are in the same compartment?
Is it strong?
How much padding is there on the bottom?
Would you recommend it for everyday use at school?
Any other things about it I should know?
1. Yes, the sleeve is very tough. I wouldn't hesitate to put it in with books.
2. It's very strong. As I recall part of the casing is made of kevlar, or something fancy like that. I wouldn't actually fire a gun at it though.
3. Padding is the same on all sides. That is, there is a very tough, firm outer casing, and then on the inside there's about 1/3" of soft padding on all sides.
4. Yes, I think it should be fine for everyday use at school.
5. Nothing that I can think of.

Do you recommend RadTech instead of Booq?

Looks like the Zeroshock, which is about $5 cheaper and has better color selections.

I have a Tom Bihn Brain Cell inside a Tom Bihn Empire Builder and I love them both. A very rugged, washable material with nice buckles and I really good suspension system that has enabled my iBook to survive two significant falls and a car crash with absolutely zero damage.

Tom Bihn is the man, and his bags kick ass.

I've bought 4 bags of his, and everyone has been absolutely superb.

I was looking for a case, bag, sleeve for my 12" Powerbook,
and I came across this on Ebay "Apple Retro 12" iBook Powerbook laptop bag case"
Now I think I could get away with when being Funky doing Art stuff.
But my banking clients might think I'll look like a freak.
WHAT DO YOU THINK PLAY OR PASS ?

Hi,

I just started school and took my laptop to school in the Brethaven sleeve its awesome. It is the best protection available. If you are hesitant the Brenthaven sleeve from the Apple Education store is the way to go.

Thanks,
Rick

I just ordered the ZeroShock notebook sleeve for my 12" iBook I have on order. From the reviews I've read here and other places, I was convinced the ZeroShock was the right sleeve for me. I plan on housing the iBook in a regular (non-laptop) backpack, so this should provide the adequate protection.

Anyone else have this sleeve that can provide they experiences?
