For those wondering what the hell I've been doing with my almost non-existent free time since I posted the mockup of Alloy, well here it is:

[[[removed for now]]]

I've scrapped my Alloy design in favor of this one. After designing (and starting) Alloy, I realized it wasn't a theme I'd actually use myself... so I've been working on Meteora, which isn't too far off from being released.

Meteora is going to fill the navy blueish gap in my themes, so there won't be a deep blue or "Dark Comb" version of Watercolor since Meteora is intended to be my custom alternative to the Watercolor theme. It will use similiar flat elements and such, but still have it's own unique design.

If anyone was actually looking forward to my Alloy design I'd be fine with sending the files to anyone who'd like to make the theme their's and release it. I doubt that's the case, but feel free to shoot me an email if you're interested.

(Edit: removed the wrong files when I was cleaning out my hosting space of old images and html files, etc.... so I'll post another screenshot later )

Ooh nice.
Can't wait.
Just the text area on the window title bar looks a little short or cramped imo, but very nice other than that

A little off topic, but Carbon - where did you get the green icon for Poteus? Did you Mae it yourself?

Yeah, I just modded the stock Proteus icon w/ a simply hue-shift on everything but the pencil and slapped the icon on Adium

Thanks for the positive responses everyone, I hoped that this would go over better than Alloy.

yeah, just been really tied up with other work. it usually takes me one month after previewing a design until the initial release. also, anyone know when duality 4 gt is gonna be made public, i haven't really been following... would be nice to explore the new theme format before releasing anything.

Thanks to Smeger for his wicked Layo mods, we can now do real Menu caps. Once I receive the latest mods to the Layo here is how the Menu caps will appear in Meteora:

Lemme know what you guys think, a lot of hard work has gone into making this work on Smeger's part. Thanks for taking the challenge and for not minding when I needed the caps to be resized yet again for the latest design of the menu caps to work

Our OS X themes just got slightly more customizable, hopefully other themers will find this to be cool and we start to see some really creative menu's

Just a quick note to other themers - ThemePark 1.0 (which is still progressing nicely) will include the ability to make these menu caps.

So please don't go insane with asking me to do layo mods.

Carbon and myself have been working to flesh this theme out.

I'm hoping to get some time this week to put together some controls prototypes to bounce off of Carbon. Right now it uses a more neutral version of the control set from Watercolor. It looks pretty good as it is, but the more I think about it the more I think we could make some controls that really fit Meteora.

So far I think our collaberation and the ingenuity of smeger have really worked well thus far, and based on the feed back with respect to the menubar and menu highlights I think you all agree

I think our primary goal is to make Meteora feel as integrated and polished as possible, and to make sure that we use the tools available to make the theme as complete and interactive as possible.

Anyhow, so far this has been really exciting

Smegger! If you can add caps to the menu items, is there possibly any way to do the same for the titlebar? As in make the text have caps as well? This would be a Godsend.

If you could also figure out how to make a border around menus and windows, classic Theme lovers would rejoyce. Probably not possible though. Prove me wrong!

I've been contemplating doing that for this theme. I've already designed the folders...so you never know.

The Layo ressource which is what is modified to make the Caps is only used by Carbon Apps (The Menubar is a stand alone background Carbon app, it does not belong to the foreground app)
the window titlebar belongs to the app, so a Layo edit would only affect carbon apps....

"The plan goes ahead as... planned."

Just thought I'd post a quick update on the status of Meteora. Everything is going good (actually better), since Nathan and I have been really tweaking the design. Here are the new tabs and scroll thumbs, as well as the menu caps:

Still no time frame on v1.0, it's gonna take (has taken) longer than my other themes, mainly because this isn't a port, it's an original design, and the end of my Spring semester is winding down and my professors love to throw it into 5th gear when they start to run out of class time...

Im totally digging the theme, very nice. I second the darker version recomendation as well, nothing like a nice dark theme to banish the "Aqua Blues".
