I recently ordered a new Macbook pro, and I upgraded to the 7200 RPM hard drive speed. I've recently been wondering if the 7200 RPM HD will drain the battery more than the 5400 RPM HD. I want a faster hard drive, but not at the expense of battery life. Can anyone tell me if increased HD speed affects battery life?

Hitachi's latest 5400RPM and 7200RPM 2.5" SATA drives draw the same amount of power when reading, writing, and idling (which should cover what its doing 99% of the time).
