OK, Pages 3.
I am in page layout mode, and cannot resize or move the footer. I basically want it somewhere else on the page, but can't figure out how to do this. Any ideas? Thanks!

Inspector -> Document Inspector (the 1st icon):
The "Footer" number (in points) there provides vertical placement.
Font size determines height. I guess the (overall) width is tied to Page Setup?

[that's the short version... and all i know for the moment. ]
