Haven't seen a setup thread in a while.
I'm finally settling in after a move...here's my new mess

Pictured: Two PCs, iBook, scanner, two printers, router, airport, DSL modem, fax machine

Bonus Items: Fire extinguisher (Just in case a power strip explodes), unsolved rubix cube, dancing hula man (wiggles with the printer).

So...where do you do what you do?

cube-dude's setup as of September 2002.

Missing from the shot are my Newton MessagePad 110 and Macintosh Plus, Classic II and LC. When a TiBook revision debuts with decent specs for the price, I'll gladly retake the "family portrait" to include it.

Here's my setup (my speakers were still in storage when I snapped this):

Now I have a PCP sitting upstairs from this guy, which is in my dorm room (so that it can stay on all night without keeping me up), but it isn't special-looking at all -- SwizCore's NeXT theme is the only remarkable thing that it sports.

Here's mine

Somebody had to post it.
"Devil ether, it makes you behave like the village drunkard in some early Irish novel. Total loss of all basic motor skills. Blurred vision. No balance. Numb Tongue. The mind recoills in horror. Unable to communicate with the spinal column. Which is interresting, because you can watch yourself behaving in this terrible way, but you can't control it"

Waterboys are a Scottish / Irish rock band who made some albums in the 90s with a distinctly Irish / folky feel (most well known songs are "Whole of the Moon", "Fishermans Blues"). There's a great track on the Fishermans Blues album where this poem is put to music - some Irish guy reads most of the "verses" and the singer (Mike Scott) sings the bit in your sig as the "chorus". Absolutely beautiful.

Perfect for me??? What is that supposed to mean?

I'm only kidding. I am quite sure she has much much cooler stuff going on with her iMac. She seems to be very on the ball with that stuff. I'd be interested in knowing if you met her through some mac-related thing. Another discussion for another night. I've got a speech to finish and a class in 5 hours. Time to get moving on.

this one will be kinda big, so i'm just linking it:
My cubicle and its roof.

i built a roof for my cubicle using a whole bunch of paper and a truss made out of coffee stirrers and staples. i hate the glare of the lights on my monitor that much.
