I turn on Fox, and all I hear is **** about "DNC Convention Coverage" and "Al Sharpton Speaks Tonight". I look at MSNBC. Same CNN. Same.
The whole convention is a joke. They try to change look to not look as socialist as they are. It's all a joke. And all I can here is my dad screaming "this guy is great!" I can even here it over Slayer. The whole think is a fake, and it is a shame it gets this much coverage. 60 something people die in Iraq because of some ass-hole terrorists, and that gets nothing. Al Sharpton the anti-semite is carried live by Communist News Network.

The candidate has already been chosen MONTHS before, so this is pointless. The Republican convention is almost as big of a joke as the Democrat's convention. Everything has been decided long ago. John Kerry has been the man since April.

Is anyone else tired of this ********?

MindFad, you never cease to amaze me. Another picture. Wow.
Go read Bias. It's more fun than finding stupid pictures.
And I wasn't saying there was a liberal media. I was just saying that BOTH of these conventions are jokes.

No, Dubya is still the "presumptive" candidate.

Yep.

All Political Convention and "stuff" bore me. That's one of the reasons I do not have a TV anymore (going on to 5 years now!)

On a side note, I think you should read Chomsky...

Noam Chomsky, the MIT communist professor?
He is an un-American erudite college professor, one of the most annoying things in the world. Since you take such an interest in him, I can assume his lies rub off on you.

Oh yeah. What does your sig mean Mini Marx?

And what kind of interest do I have in him beside offering you to read him?

Man you are funny!

The other funny thing is that people often call me Marx although I have nothing to do with communism! It is probably my name I guess...

My sig?

Well... If I start explaining, it won't be funny anymore...

Edward's speech tonight was far from boring, at least in my opinion.

I honestly don't how how the republicans could top his speech in terms of inspiration. Who is going make a better speech? Arnold? Cheney? Bush?

The DNC and the RNC both suck. All they are doing is preaching to the choir and hopefully this is the last year for these pieces of crap.

I like them. I think Kerry has finally established himself as a worthy opponent of Bush and I'm interested to see the competition. The only problem is deciding whether or not to watch football or the debates. Hmmm. I also look forward to the RNC.

AngoqOK's autosig has something to do with what the UN Weapons Inspectors found in Iraq as posted by World Weekly News;

Secret Videotape Shows Lions Eating Christians In Iraq
Jul 29 '03

By VINCENZO SARDI & BARRY DUTTER WASHINGTON -- U.N. weapons inspectors searching for nuclear weapons have uncovered something they never expected to find: A hidden rock quarry, dubbed "The Arena of Death," where helpless Christian prisoners are fed to hungry lions! One of the quick-thinking inspectors had his video camera with him when this horrifying spectacle was taking place, and captured the gruesome scene on tape. The inspectors could only stand by helplessly as three men were torn limb from limb by the voracious beasts. "It was the most frightening thing I've ever seen," says one inspector. "They must not ......

I'm not really sure why his autosig would be funny. I think he should be banned for it.

They're political infomercials disguised as news events.

Off topic for ebuddy:
Primo: I do not know of any AngoqOK, but if you refer to me,
it is a - n - g - a - q - 0 - k. Note that I never played with the spelling of your nick, I would appreciate that you reciprocate.

Secundo: I was not aware of that article you mention. But the joke is about Christians, at the time of the Romans, when pretty much anything that would disagree with the Emperor had to be turned into entertainment.

That spin is unfortunate, but I make no apologies for it. I am a Christian myself, and find the joke funny in retrospective. I am sorry if it shocked some people of this forum, i.e. I am empathetic, but will not change it unless the mods ask me to.

Anyway, it will change again in a few days (or weeks), according to my whim.

Tertio: I also think that you could have used proper channels to complain instead of derailing the thread by making it personal. end of off topic issue.

Someone had made a very interesting comment about partisanery and political conventions a few months ago (was it zigzag?). That person pointed out how the public face of the political "thing" is also plagued by some gruesome deals and heavy-handed negotiations that happen in the corridors. I think of it as the underground of power, probably where the real decisions are made. A few movies showed how it could happen already ("Primary Colors" comes to mind).

I have to say that my personal experience in Politics is also a pretty sour one, and I am left with this impression that pretty much all Political Conventions are only superficial front shows for Power, and that makes me less confident in democracy.

My experience with First Nations, in small dwellings has showed me a different democracy, and since then, I am pretty sarcastic about the Politics of the Industrialized countries.

I don't care if you make fun of my nickname. Look Angquirck or Anglong or whoever the heck you are that your nickname is such the integral part of your identity; don't be so thin-skinned. You're in a debate forum.

You should know that when you use autosig's that could be construed as controversial, you run the risk of derailing threads by that virtue alone. You'll notice mine is simply; ebuddy.

back on lame topic;

I'm disgusted by what these things cost and how the FUXXING BALLOONS LET ME DOWN!!!! WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET A SIMPLE CEILING OF BALLOONS TO FALL?! WHO THE FUXX IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS FAILURE?! WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY DOING UP THERE?!
